I recently received this gorgeous Kelly Green Maxi in the mail last week. The second I tried it on I knew this would be getting tons of wear this upcoming season. For the past few years I have accumulated quite a few fun maxis, and with good reason. They are so comfortable (don’t need to shave), they come in a trillion different colors and prints, and can easily transition from day to night. As much as I love a cute sundress, they aren’t always the best choice when chasing around a very very active 5 year old boy. As a mother I have to be somewhat frugal and conservative when it comes to my clothing budget. There is a few rules I live by that help to make it super easy without having to sacrifice style.
First off, whenever you purchase a piece of clothing, make sure your able to picture five different ways you plan to wear it. By doing this, your putting thought into each piece you add to your wardrobe. Your also making sure that your going to wear this piece more than one way. For instance this green maxi can be dressed up and down. You can wear it to a outside wedding depending on the dress code or to brunch with the girls by adding a simple top and a cute pair of wedges. When you purchase a versatile piece your making your cost per wear much lower. This rule helps to when your trying to justify a more expensive purchase. If you buy a $30 pair of pants that you like, but, don’t seem to reach for them very often, however the $90 jeans are getting worn a few times a week, it’s safe to say the $90 jeans were a better investment. HEY the cost per wear trick helps me with guilt!! HaHa
With the internet, it is so easy to search for exactly what your looking for. For instance, off the shoulder tops are every where this season. I have seem them in Banana Republic, Nordstrom, Target, you name it. So to be in style you don’t have to break the bank, you can simply find one you like best within your price point. I have a couple affordable on-line shopping sites that I always visit. The one I received this pleated maxi is one of them. They have the best pricing, so many choices, and they try to recreate the high end designs that are flying off the shelves. I actually just purchased a chain cross body that reminded me so much of the Chloe that everyone is rocking this season. As sad as I am that I can’t have the real one, I am still thrilled to be able to achieve the same look.
This green pleated maxi from SHEINSIDE was perfect for my early dinner with my Fiance after a long day of shopping. I thought the crochet top brought boho feel and texture, while the light wash denim jacket made this look more casual. I don’t know about you, but, I can’t seem to leave the house without some sort of tassel or pom-pom, hence my choice for my beach bag turned suitcase. Haha, I know this bag is on the bigger side, but, as you know when you leave your house for any length of time you need all the essentials and this bag can handle them.
Well this is just another great piece I found at a great price. Being a mother, its hard to justify all the purchases we would like to make. I have found ways to always look and feel my best with out hurting my wallet. I am always so happy when my Sheinside orders arrive. They run smaller which is great for me who sometimes has trouble in the regular Womens sizes. Well girls, Mom duty is callings so I must be off, but, remember we are all beautiful both inside & out! Happy weekend!! Gretchen Michelle Xo
