I am a firm believer that everyone has to visit New York at least once in their life. If you’re a blogger then that time has to be during New York fashion week. I have already started the count down for September’s New York Fashion Week. The city, the shows, and events made this trip unbelievable. However, all the genuine, kind, and beautiful fellow bloggers I met truly made this trip memorable. Before we get into what I wore and did, I wanted to talk about one of the best parts of blogging. It seriously is the community. I have a few girls I now call friends. This community doesn’t compete, they unite. I am part of Style Collective, which is a tribe of talented #girlbosses who rock day to night.
As I had mentioned in an insta-story, I suffer from anixety. I never go to far out of my comfort zone. Attending New York Fashion week was something I always dreamed of and imagined but never thought was obtainable. Thanks to Style Collective for laying it all out. Along with all the help from my SC sisters who have attended NYFW before. There are some great tips that made planning so much easier. I knew I could totally make it happen If I wanted to. My desire to go was so strong I didn’t allow my anxiety to stop me.
Brian and I drove down together. I figured having him was my best bet if my aniexty got the best of me (which it never did). We stayed at the Lexington Hotel which was gorgeous. It was nice to have him to come back to after running around all day. Saturday was certainly one of my busiest days with the shows and Shopstyle Event. It was so beauiful. Gigi New York and The Glam App where there. The Glam app beauified us with manicures, hair, and makeup! I certainly left looking much better than I arrived! They allowed us to pull from designers for our shots. Which is perfect since you’re constantly changing outfits, and looks for each show. There are rooms full of designer clothes, champagne, and talented bloggers. Along with Evalina for Youtube!
This Yumi Kim top is one of the pieces I pulled from the Shop style Event. With all the snow and bitter cold I needed something with a spring feel. Floral was making an appearace on the runways. Stay tuned for trends I noticed at the shows if your ready to start your spring shopping! These are my first pair of “mom jeans” and figured why not give them a try. If I had thighs or a butt I am sure they would be more flattering. Hey, whats a girl to do, right?!!
Hope I havent completely made you cringe with my NYFW instagrams and posts, but seriously cant stop talking about it! I will talk more about what I learned in a future post. I know that September will be even better. Not to mention warmer!! Also Living life pretty is coming up on a year!! I want to put together a Q&A. Would love if you could leave some of your questions below.
