It’s bout that time for the humidity and sticky weather. You know what that means… time to switch to our summer beauty favorites. My skin changes signifiigantly with the weather. My dry skin always becomes more oil prone this time of year. These summer beauty products are some I have used for years, and a few new purchases from the Sephora friends and family sale. As most of you know, I started LLP focused mainly on Makeup. I. Love. Makeup. I am what some would call a product junkie! I love trying and buying new products. However, after years of trial and error, I have found quite a few summer makeup products, aka “Holy grails”, I reach for time and time again. Summer is hot! I know I woud love to go barefaced! However, I need some kind of coverage. These products are the best for those no makeup, makeup days. I think it is safe to say that most of us are looking for the same thing when it comes to our summer beauty products. We need it to stay on during the heat and humidity, light weight, breathable, and covers with confidenence! I mean, is that too much to ask?!! I think NOT! Especially with these amazing beauty finds.
Milk Makeup Blur Stick– This stick came into my hands a few months back. This Milk blur stick is known as the invisible foudation. This stick claims to make your skin poreless, reducing redness and priming all in one. I knew after my first application that this was going into “holy grail’ status. It made my skin almost flawless, even before I applied my foundation!
COOLA Sunscreen – This is one of my favorite sunscreens. They all smell amazing and come in 30 SPF or 50 SPF. They layer well, which is so important. Yes, I apply sunscreen if I am going to be outside even if my foudation has it.
Physican Formula Butter Bronzer – This bronzer is now tied with my benefit hoola bronzer, and that’s saying a lot! This bronzer applies amazing and literally smells like the tropics. Everytime I apply it, I feel like I am sipping a pina colada on the beach. Aside from smelling like summer, it really is such a universal shade. For under $15 you can’t go wrong!
Anastastia DipBrow Pomade – This brow pomade does not budge. No one wants their eyebrows sliding off their face! Been there, done that! I had my eyebrows microbladed about a year ago, and it was one of my best decisions. However, when I did fill in my brows for a summer day this was my go-to.
La Roche Posay Balm – This balm has done wonders for my skin. It is hands down one of my all time favorite face lotions. I use it morning and night, however, if your skin is oily I would opt for only nightime use. Aside for putting hydration back into your skin after a day at the beach, it also helps to clear any bumps or irriation you might have. You can find it at most Walgreens.
Hourglass Ambient lighting blush – This blush is perfect for adding color to the cheeks with a slight highlight. I don’t know about you, but I am all about the strobing trend. I love that highlighted glow, but it can be a little much for those daytime looks. This blush adds colors with a slight sheen. Perfect for any daytime look.
The It Cosmetics CC Cream with SPF 50+ – This has been a favorite for a few summers now! Everytime I wear this, I can’t tell you the number of compliments I receive. Have you heard the term “your skin but better” that’s this foudation all the way! The CC + illuminating is also great if you want a more dewy glow. If your like me and constantly snapping insta pics, rememeber SPF can give a white cast in photos! I can talk about foundations for hours. Let me know if your interested in summer foundations post!
Tartlette Palette – I wasn’t going to include eyeshadow in my daytime summer beauty products. Most days I just don’t use it. If I do, it is neutrals all the way! A less is more for any daytime eye look. These colors are all daytime wearable. I do find some colors to be more blendable than other. Regardless, this is such a pretty palette.
YSL Rouge Volupte shine oil in-stick lipstick – This lipstick is perfect for anyone how loves to add a wash of color to the lips. It applies like a gloss and is infused with six essential oils. Did I mention it smells like mango?! These are the perfect swipe and go kinda lip color. Perfect for the hot summer months and they also have the prettiest packaging! Maybelline lash sensational – Honestly, I am kinda blessed with good lashes. Any mascara seems to work just fine. However, something about this formula just holds my lashes all day. It just never lets me down. I love that it is also a drugstore price. If you’re going to be hanging at the beach or pool make sure you reach for a waterproof version.
Tarte shape tape concealer – This is my newest concealer and my favorite. It claims to have a 2-1 formula that covers redness, dark circles and hydrates. I love the lightweight feel, and it has hardly any creasing. This concealer sells for $25 and has a great shade range.
Mario Badescu Rose hip water – This can be used anytime, anyplace. Straight from the shower, before makeup and after! This Mario Badescu spray gets a lot of use come the hotter days. After a long day in the sun, you can spray this rose hip water to help with your dry dehydrated skin. For extra moisture you can spray this into your daytime sunscreen or lotion.
If you’re a makeup junkie like myself, I hope I introduced you to some new daytime summer beauty products that you will also love. These are the products that I will be reaching for come summer. If I am heading to brunch or shopping with the girls, these products are it. If you enjoy these makeup posts let me know! I have plenty of post ideas. Hope you have a wonderful week.
