I know we are not even out of August yet and I am raving about boots, scarves, and pumpkin EVERYTHING!! I like summer don’t get me wrong, but fall, whats not to love! The weather is great and fall clothing is my absolute favorite. September just signifies a fresh, new start, which means new clothes ……right?! Since a budget is still important to me, I have become really good at transitioning my wardrobe from season to season without breaking the bank.
This cream lace dress is so feminine and cute, it wasn’t my favorite fit, but by adding the edgy leather jacket It helped accentuate my waist. These booties where purchased late last winter and cant wait to get more wear out of them! This jacket was one of my top #Nsale purchases and was such a steal during the sale, however it is still under $100 and comes in a few different colors. I am wearing the XS, I love the more fitted look I get with this size. Believe it or not, I grabbed this cream lace dress on Poshmark. I had sold a few pieces so this dress literally cost me nothing with my credit. If you have a closet full of clothes that you don’t wear, there are so many great consignment sites, I generally use Poshmark or thredUP
With all the great jackets, vests, cardigans, scarves, and hats, transitioning all your favorite summer pieces should be super easy come cooler temps. Let me know your favorite fall staples. It’s 80 degrees outside and I am sitting here drinking a pumpkin coffee (iced) dreaming of sweater weather, orchards and Bath & Body work Marshallow Fireside candle. All my living Life Pretty girls, I’m hoping to really become more constant with my blog. Thanks for being so awesome! Remember you are all BEAUTIFUL both Inside & out XO.

Yes, I am new to the blogging community, and yes, I am very proud of it! It’s a stage we all have to visit. For years I wanted to blog, I wanted to do Youtube, I wanted to be a IG sensation, and for years I just didnt have the guts. Putting yourself out there is scary and frightening. People are can be mean, but once I accepted that I wasn’t doing this for them, I was doing this for me I built up the courage and did it. This week I hit 1K followers on IG and I know that is not a lot in the IG world, however for someone who was to scared to post a “selfie” 6 months ago this was everything. I am continuously blown away by the amount of talent there is on IG. I wanted to take a moment and talk about what I have learned these first 4 months and encourage anyone who has been wanting to take the plunge, but, just hasn’t built up the courage.
I started off with IG, snapping photos of things I was loving, whether an outfit or beauty product. At first if I got 20 likes I felt accomplished. As I established my name on IG, I began working with a graphic designer to help me put together LivingLifePretty.com. Even my graphic designer was worried, I could see the look on his face when it came to my relationship with a computer. I will be the first to admit I was the worst, I am still not good in any sense of the word but I am certainly better. Blogging takes a lot of work with very little return in the beginning. In return I mean getting compensated for your time. That doesn’t bother me because I am getting so much more out of it. I am learning so much about WordPress and photography. Already just after four months I look back at some of my first photos and cringe, but, hey that’s my story and it helps me to see how far I have come. Four months is nothing and it’s amazing to think where I will be next year at this time.
A huge thing that would get me discouraged was comparing myself to others (we all do it) however, I had to pull back and remind myself that a lot of these girls have been doing this for years. I am so happy that I reached out to a few girls who where starting off around the same time. We would and still always show one another love, commenting, and liking there photos. As corny as it sounds, I feel like I have made some wonderful social media friends. I became part of Style Collective which is a group of girl bloggers, it’s a sisterhood! We all help, support, and work together. I have learned and received some wonderful opportunities because of style Collective.
To my followers who are eager to begin blogging some advice that I truly believe will help you on your journey:
- Start a network, create relationships, engage on their pages and comment on their photos.
- I think WordPress is a great platform. It is easy to learn and has a lot of options as you grow.
- Buy a Domain name, It looks much more professional.
- Blog about something you love.
- Be consistent and try to upload good quality photos. A good camera is something to invest in.
- Be patient if you put in the work and enjoy it your followers will come.
1k followers on IG was my first goal once I began Living Life Pretty. Everyone told me to be patient, slow growth isn’t bad growth, that’s how you establish longtime followers who will stick with you. I remember when I hit 400 my fiance brought home a cake. It is about the small victories. It hasn’t even been 6 months and I have had brands reach out to me. It feels so good to be recognized for your work. I started this for fun. I didn’t know all the other things I would gain for it, let alone in this very short time. For me being part of Style Collective has been great. I have somewhere to go for questions and in site regarding any thing from collaborations, blogging, personnel experience. I have formed Relationships with other wonderful bloggers, both “newbies” and ones that are very well established. I have gained tremendous confidence, I actually look at the camera when I have my photo taken for IG or my blog. I amaze myself sometimes when it comes to wordpress. I actually believe in myself, I believe I can make it in the blogging world as long as I stay committed and give it my all.
Being successful is great, but it isn’t only about the success, it’s about the journey you took to get there. Everyone has a different idea of what “success” really is, well to me 1k in my little blogging world is just enough today. When I started I thought, “How am I going to compete with all these blogger who already have such a large presence” well that is the best part, it’s not a competition it’s a community. Remember we are all beautiful both inside & out!

But thats ok we don’t even need to get dressed, HELLO ONLINE SHOPPING! Aside from a very active 5yr old, I truly have the most unbelievable fiance. He works so hard so I am able to be home with our son. I am able to start creating this blog where I can share my passion for, well anything Pretty!
Well if your reading this last paragraph something kept your interest long enough to stick around for a little bit. Welcome to Living Life Pretty where I hope to share anything pretty that catches my eye on any given day. Come over and learn about my obsession for black & white. That I love anything that is copper or Dalmation print. That a cute coffee mug can never be passed up. And shoes, well we all love shoes, RIGHT??
