How is it already Monday again? Last week we had some major life changes happen and I was a little off my blog game. Regardless, I was not about to miss this new series since so many of you seemed to love it. If you are new to LLP each Monday I will talk about one must have closet staple. Last week we talked about the moto jacket (here). Every great wardrobe starts with classic staples.
Can I get a hallelujah for sweater weather? Who doesn’t love a cozy knit sweater on a cool afternoon with a PSL in hand? I was lucky to snag a ton of great knit sweaters on sale at Nordstrom. There are tons of great fall tops that everyone should be stocking up on for the cooler months, but there is something about a great V-neck knit sweater that makes this style one of my favorite.
To create a great closet that works with you make sure you are working with different neutral shades and textures. Everyone should incorporate some fun color but keep it stocked with grays, creams, blacks, and one of my favorites, blush for more versatility. Neutrals make it easier to mix and match and in return gives you more options within the wardrobe, just like the knit sweater I’m wearing today.
These tops are great and I style mine a ton of different ways. I steer more towards jeans, but last week I did get a little adventurous and rocked my BP. knit V-neck with my new BlankNYC velvet skirt. Sometimes, I size up and wear my knit sweater off the shoulder with a cute bralette. This is perfect because you’re able to switch up the look for a more trendy version without having to make another purchase.
It is important to create a capsule wardrobe while still finding ways to fit your personal style. Use these suggestions as a starting point, and find fun pieces to incorporate along the way. The best part about these staples is their timeless enough to wear season after season. Every piece in your capsule wardrobe should be loved and reached for often.
Some other great knit sweaters!
